The Poppee is a two-toned style Colorado spoon teardrop with a gold-plated hook. The Poppee spirals or parachutes when falling, which entices neutral mood fish into biting. Named after Poppee himself, it is Poppee’s favorite choice for crappie.
Ice Fishing
Poppees work well when tipped with all types of live bait. Spikes, waxworms and shiners won’t impair the parachute falling motion. They are great for crappie, bluegill and perch particularly in the shallows when the fish are a little aggressive. Use light line for best results (2-4 lb. test).
Open Water
Poppees are excellent slip bobber lures, because of their wide profile, shallow water panfish can find them a long way off. Glow Brite colors work best in stained water while fluorescents work in deeper clearer lakes.
